Position Summary

The outreach and projects associate will be the owner of the Corporate Responsibility and NYL Foundation communication calendar and project plan, will manage updates to internal and external websites, and will assist in implementing communication strategy for major company-wide initiatives and events. This individual will also be responsible for the day to day management of the Community Impact Grant program, support for outreach and engagement efforts across the field, serve as back-up to the grant administrator, and other special projects.

Major Responsibilities

  • With Corporate Communications, maintain department communication calendar and assist in implementing communication strategies (15%)
  • Serve as day to day contact with corporate communications (10%)
  • Responsible for maintenance of internal and external websites (10%)
  • Day-to-day management of the Community Impact Grant (CIG) (25%)
  • Back-up to grants administrator:
    Assist with payments, correspondences and other grant administrative task (10%)
  • Additional outreach support (15%)
  • Special project support (15%)

Qualifications

  • BA Required
  • Areas of study should include:
    Communications, marketing, human services, nonprofit management
  • 3-5 years minimum experience required
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Familiarity with the insurance industry
  • Graphic design a plus.

Position Complexity

  • This position requires project management expertise including the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • The ideal candidate will have provided support for or managed grant programs or similar projects.
  • This position requires communications experience - excellent written communications and the ability to use content management systems. A familiarity with web design and usability is a plus.
  • This position will need to be aware of all programs and events for the department and work with corporate communications and SMEs to publish content.
  • This position will require the ability to juggle competing priorities and limited resources.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
