Pence Literacy Lab Teacher
Compensation and Requirements: $3,600 Stipend (+$421.52 FICA/IPERS) 72 additional hours of work @ $50/hour Begins August 16 (5.67 hours); Ends June 5th (11.33 hours) Additional 55 hours to be scheduled by building principal end date subject to change based on end of school year
Focus: Professional efforts will all center around literacy.
Leadership: Focuses teacher leadership efforts on implementing ongoing district initiatives with high fidelity and transparency in the classroom. Collaborates with other lab teachers and level coaches (former specialists). Instructs class with the understanding that peers may observe live or video taped, lesson plans shared, evidence of best practices archived and shared.
Best Practices: literacy based best practiced or other designated strategies. Models classroom management, lesson planning, assessment, interventions, direct instruction, differentiation, or other pedagogy as assigned. Uses data for decisionmaking. Provides evidence of effective alignment to Iowa Core: benchmarks, characteristics of effective instruction, and universal constructs.
Mindset: Relishes self-reflection and ongoing improvement. Develops/shares deep conceptual understanding of identified practices. Shares failures and successes with leadership team. Collaborates with a team to implement best practice.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
