30 PM, Monday through Friday, hours may vary; may need to respond to emergencies and occasional travel As the Fairfield Transportation Engineer Associate, you'll play a vital role by coordinating contract administration for projects throughout District 5.
This team will be administering $49.
9 million of projects to improve the bridges and roadway during the 2023 Construction Season which includes the following key projects:
- Structures - On Highway 1, Little Lick Creek 1.
2 mi N of S Jct IA 16 - PCC Paving - On Highway 92, E of US 218 to 2nd St in Columbus Junction - Grading - On Highway 61, N of Mediapolis to 0.
5 mi N of IA 78 You'll work with a great team dedicated to improving Iowa roads by:
- inspect and coordinate construction projects ensuring work is aligned with contract documents - engage and collaborate with employees to support team success - act as a liaison with Iowa DOT staff, government officials, contractors, media, and the public - ensure proper certification of materials including sampling, testing, and inspection - respond to inquiries and resolves technical issues in accordance with department policies - performs Resident Construction final audit process for completed projects - use DOT technical devices and software applications What we offer YOU:

Possession of an Engineer Certificate issued by the Iowa State Board of Engineering Examiners is required within 18 months of hire.
Licensure as a Professional Engineer is required within 9 years of hire for continued employment as a Transportation Engineer Associate.

Minimum Qualification Requirements Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in chemical, civil, construction, environmental, materials, mechanics, structural, or transportation engineering or in engineering management.
Possession of a verification of graduation with major course work in chemical, civil, construction, environmental, materials, mechanics, structural, or transportation engineering or in engineering management.
